Robbin Newman, Esq. joined ATD Mediation in 2010 and has mediated numerous court-ordered and pre-suit disputes throughout South Florida involving insurance coverage issues, premises and auto liability claims, banking and collection matters, personal injury and complex commercial cases. Robbin understands the needs of the parties in each case; and where settlement is the goal of the parties she works diligently and effectively in an effort to achieve these goals.
Ms. Newman is a former partner of the law firm of Holland & Knight where she focused her practice for over 26 years in the areas of commercial real estate and finance, and served as co-chair of the law firm’s National Real Estate Finance Team. Throughout her career, Robbin has had extensive experience in the representation of institutional lenders in large, complex mortgage loan transactions, as well as real estate owners and developers in the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of commercial projects. She has also worked closely with litigation attorneys in connection with the negotiation and documentation of foreclosure actions, as well as loan workout transactions. Robbin has had significant experience in title examination, analysis of potential title claim issues, and resolution of disputed title issues. Robbin brings her legal career of negotiation, advocacy and analytical skills to mediation with the goal of actively engaging the parties involved in complex business disputes to successfully resolve their differences.
In addition to being a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit-Civil mediator, Robbin completed the American Arbitration Association Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Training Program, and is certified to mediate residential foreclosures. Robbin has been practicing law in the State of Florida since 1984 and is rated by Martindale as an AV preeminent attorney. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in 1981, and received her Juris Doctor from the Boston University School of Law in 1984. Robbin has authored articles and participated in speaking engagements on a variety of commercial real estate topics. She continues to practice law with her own firm, Newman Law Office, P.L., in the areas of commercial real estate, finance and leasing, and is general counsel to Danburg Management Corporation, based in Boca Raton, Florida, where she oversees the leasing and all legal matters pertaining to its 1,000,000 square foot portfolio of industrial and office properties.
Robbin’s charitable efforts play an important role in her life. For over 8 years she has been a high school youth mentor with the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program, and for the last two years has also served as Chair of the organization’s Palm Beach County Leadership Council. In 2014, Robbin was honored by Women of Tomorrow as the 2014 Mentor of the Year at their annual gala. Robbin also participates in fundraising events for the Diabetes Research Institute and JAFCO, and is a Guardian Angel for the Holtz Children’s Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
